Our senior therapeutic team have 32 years of therapeutic and equine specific experience combined. With a combination of British Psychological Society and British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy training and qualifications, Philippa and her team have strong scientific and therapeutic backgrounds. Each team member has specialist areas including: Trauma in Young People and Adults, Addiction & Eating Disorders, Family Relations, Anger, Self-Harm, Depression & Anxiety, and more. The team actively seek to continue professional development, and attend conferences and training regularly, to ensure they are working at the highest possible standards. The team are fully insured to carry out therapeutic work and follow ethical guidelines outlined by the BACP and BPS.

Philippa is a LEAP Senior EFP/L Practitioner and Supervisor. She is an experienced Psychologist and author, whose research interests lay in body-mind processes and attending to the body when working with trauma. Philippa developed Equine Enlightenment in 2014 with a passion to facilitate healing through the power of the horse. Horses have always held a special place in her heart and have offered solace and respite through many challenging life events.
Alongside her EFP work, Philippa has extensive experience and training at doctoral level, providing psychological and psychotherapeutic interventions for a broad range of presenting issues. Philippa supervises other practitioners’ clinical work in both equine and room-based settings. Her experience, love and passion for horses enables her to share tools and techniques that help to attend to the care and needs of the therapy horse. She has presented at conferences internationally and lectured in EFP, all aspects of equestrianism and counselling at university level.
Philippa is based in Buckinghamshire She works with adults, young people, families/ couples and groups.
Philippa is fully insured to carry out therapeutic and supervisory work. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and Registered Senior EFP Practitioner with LEAP Equine. She continues to engage in regular supervision and adheres to the BPS code of ethics. This ensures her practice is ethical and safe for clients to use.
Devi MaybanksEquine Facilitated Psychotherapist
Devi is a LEAP Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist and a counsellor trained to Post Graduate Diploma level. She is an experienced practitioner working with a broad range of clients. Devi has extensive experience of working with people of all ages, but particularly enjoys working with children and adolescents.
She is experienced in working therapeutically with young people and adults facing a wide range of emotional difficulties, and in utilising bespoke therapeutic interventions for individuals. Devi strongly believes in collaborative therapy work and building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships that are secure and mutually respectful.
Horses have long been trusted partners, companions, allies and friends in Devi’s life. Passionate about the benefits of Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, Devi can therefore offer positive therapeutic experiences in a safe, warm and natural environment with horses for people to reflect, process and work through individual challenges.
Devi is a Registered Member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP 657356) and adheres to the BACP code of ethics. She has monthly supervision and undertakes regular CPD to continuously improve her practice.
